-a fugitive running-

*angry muttering* Confound people walking in without looking where they're going! It's been twenty-four hours; where could the beast have gone? *grumbles* Back to the Forbidden Forest, I shouldn't doubt... wretched animal... I suppose I shouldn't have expected it to....

If anybody has seen a tattooed, hairless cat in the castle, kindly bring it back to the first-floor staff room. Thank you.

I hope you've all been working hard on the parameters of your hexagrammatic rune charts. It is time to discuss imbuing these runes -- and even runes you did not write yourself -- with charms and trigger spells to make them magically active.

As you've all had experience working together, our next class sessions will be performed jointly with Professor Robin's class. You will pick a partner from her class, exchange hexagrams, choose a that you have learned this year, imbue the hexagram with the charm, and incorporate a trigger spell that will set it off whenever you desire. For homework, do the same thing to one of your own hexagrams for practice.

..And five points to anybody who finds that cat!

[[Strike not hackable, but mood is obvious to anyone who sees him. Edit: there may be a log for the project, so stay tuned! :D As for Marco, I'm giving him another day or so loose in the castle. Enjoy his ear-splitting greetings!]]

Your kitty is in my room, and he doesn't seem to want to be picked up...

[identity profile] bobthewizard.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
He is? Well, Petrify him and get ..hmm, maybe not... *thinks frantically* ..Perhaps you could... trap him in there, until someone could pick him up?

[[*can already think of five or six ways that won't work* XDDD]]

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
I saw the cat a while ago... I was up on the fourth floor...

*amused* Have you thought of getting help from someone to lure the cat back to where you wish it to be with catnip or a live mouse?

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Chocolate frogs work quite well.

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
.......

... Except you aren't suppose to give chocolate to a cat... It can make them sick.

... Even I know that! *amused*

[identity profile] bobthewizard.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
..it does?

Hmm... perhaps Marco knows that as well. He was chasing Chocolate Frogs all over the room yesterday, but I never actually saw him eat any.

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
Of course you don't let them eat it. Marco is smart enough to know that. He just likes to chase them. I was just stating that I believe chocolate frogs would be better to catch him than catnip.

[identity profile] bobthewizard.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
*furrows brow* I doubt catnip would be a good idea anyway. It sends them wild, from what I've heard.

[[*says the guy who still doesn't know much about cats* XDDD]]

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
Really? That sounds quite...interesting...

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
Catnip doesn't exactly make them go wild... It depends on the cat.

... Mostly it makes them act like kittens again, all hyper and overly playful, it's pretty funny...

It's a long story to explain how I know so much about cats. well, sorta.

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
What if you gave them, you know, a lot?

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
I think we should make it an experiment!

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno... One time Laddie, that's the kid back home who is responsible for why I know about cats, anyway... One time he gave an entire packet of catnip to a small cat he had... The think was like a wired little fuzzball, racing about attacking everything floofy or shiny until it passed out... it was fine, but it napped for an hour or so.

Anyway... I happen to have a few mice if you wanted to try luring it that way. *shrug*

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
Oh come on, what would you give to see a hairless, tattooed cat going completely crazy??

...come to think of it, I bet a tattooed, hairless cat would fetch a fair price as it is...

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
... Price..?

Hey, no selling the strange cat! I kinda like it... I even went out of my way to catch MICE specifically for it!

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't say I was going to sell it. I was just wondering, that's all. Plus, I kinda like it too.

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oh... ok.

Though on that note, you wouldn't believe how damn difficult it is to catch a mouse! Cats are unnaturally good at it.

I only managed to catch a few... It's sad, really... All things considering.

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
They are a lot easier to catch when you use magic you know.

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:22 am (UTC)(link)
... How do you think I caught ANY..?

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I see. Well at least you caught a couple.

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
.... And accidentally turned one neon colors...And I'll not bother explaining the few other times I messed up before I decided that a few mice was good enough.

'Sides... I went into the Forest for Potion ingredients and whatnot, not for mice. I had other things to do.

[identity profile] bobthewizard.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
*torn between laughter and annoyance* I can read this, you know.

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
*amused/curious* Was it something I said? *ponders* What, do you think it's a bad idea to try and lure the cat back with catnip and mice?

*gets an idea* Ooh! Maybe if I put lots of catnip onto the mice? There's an idea, I don't think even the most contrary cat could turn up it's nose at that!

[identity profile] bobthewizard.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Only if you want all the cats in the castle to converge on your location. And I can state from experience that Hogwarts is by no means lacking in cats.

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
.... Oh.

Huh, yah, I suppose that would be a problem, wouldn't it...

Well, maybe.... Huh, no, I think I'm kinda out of ideas at this point...

[identity profile] bobthewizard.livejournal.com 2007-11-16 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
*sighs* One of the students told me that cats are... independent... and will go and come when least expected. If she's right, he should come back on his own. *hoping against hope*

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-16 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
*amused*
Well, That is true.

The kid back home, Laddie, Once had this one cat... That cat hated David, and usually would do all manner of unpleasant things to him, anyway, David tried for weeks to chase that cat off nicely... The damn thing kept coming back!
*snort, laugh* That didn't go well...

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-17 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
*cringes, hesitantly nods*

[identity profile] bobthewizard.livejournal.com 2007-11-18 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
*sorting this out* So... when you try to get rid of them they come back, and when you try to catch them they do their best to get away....

*facepalm* I simply don't understand the feline species.

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-17 10:20 am (UTC)(link)
OH YEA! I knew that.

[identity profile] bobthewizard.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
*groan of disgust -- that's well out of his range* He could be anywhere in the school by now....

To lure it back...? *thinking* A psychologically sound tactic, from what I've been told -- evidently contrariety is an innate trait of feline character.

[identity profile] spacethief-vala.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
And a female characteristic as well.

[identity profile] 80smusicforever.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
*scoff*
No kidding...

[identity profile] bobthewizard.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
*smirks*
